The following is an
excerpt of SGA President, Katie Nichols', April 2008 graduation speech:
"All of us have had
memorable experiences while being students at Clarkson College. From forging
life-long friendships to thoroughly preparing for out futures, our time at this
school has been full of ups and downs. Whether they are good or not so
positive, we have made memories here that will not soon be overlooked. We will
take away much from Clarkson College. As it is often said, 'It's not the
destination that matters, but he journey instead.' How appropriate, then, for
my speech to be focused around our student journeys here. How appropriate, I
thought, for my address to emphasize some of the most special attractions and
pit stops from our Clarkson College voyages. On this very special day, Spring
2008 Graduation, I want to highlight with you the Top 10 Most Unforgettable Experiences from Clarkson College.
10. The cram
sessions and the late nights we all have experienced.
9. ERIs.
8. Being up,
arriving at class or clinical, and having completed half your day before the
sun rises.
7. Getting to know
the school president—THREE times over.
6. The caffeine
addiction most of us have acquired throughout the past few years.
5. Becoming
strangely apathetic towards bodily fluids, bedpans and human anatomy.
4. Care planning,
care planning, care planning!
3. The faculty,
staff and administrative members who have helped to make our Clarkson College experience
great.
2. The Lifelong
friendships we have made.
1. Finding out we
really can be amazing health care professionals."
