Step 1:  

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The information you and your student are required to provide on the FAFSA helps determine your eligibility for a PLUS. If you have not already done so, please go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete. 

Step 2: 

Determine the dollar amount you want to borrow. A parent can borrow up to the difference between Clarkson College's cost of attendance budget and the student's estimated financial aid. The maximum PLUS eligibility is printed on the student's financial aid award letter. 

Step 3: 

Complete the Federal PLUS Request form and return it to the Student Financial Services Department. 

Step 4: 

Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN).

·         The list below includes lenders most frequently selected by Clarkson College parent borrowers. Contact the Student Financial Services Department if the lender you want to use is not listed below.
