Testing Center Rules
·
Cell
phones must be turned off and put away at all times during testing.
·
Coats
and backpacks must be hung up or set under the table during testing.
·
Due
to liability issues and respect for those testing, the Testing Center cannot
allow guests, visitors, or family member(s) to be in the center at any time.
·
The
Testing Center must be quiet at all times.
Student Responsibility
·
Complete the Test Proctor
Agreement/Scholastic Honesty Statement Form, on page 22 of the Online Education Manual, and submit it to the Coordinator
of Online Education well in advance of making test arrangements.
·
Students
must schedule for their test at least 24
hours in advance and provide the details listed under Scheduling Procedure. Students are encouraged to
schedule 1-2 weeks in advance if possible.
·
Students
must confirm test availability with their instructor if requesting a date other
than test scheduled dates or when arranging for a make-up test.
·
Students
must notify the Testing Center Proctor, if they are going to be over 15 minutes
late.
·
Students
must supply necessary testing tools other than scratch paper and calculator,
which are available.
·
Test must be completed prior to
the Testing Center's scheduled closing time.
·
Students
must contact the Testing Center Proctor if they cannot make their appointment. If
a student misses more than 2 scheduled test appointments without proper
notification, they may no longer be able to use the Testing Center.
·
Scheduling
questions for either testing site
should be directed to the Testing Center Coordinator.
·
Online

Any
questions regarding your test should be directed to the instructor.
·
Accommodations: Arrangements must be made in
advance with your instructor, if you require an exam scribe, exam reader,
special environment, additional aids, wheelchair accessible computer, and/or
extended time in order to complete your test.
·
Please Note: E-mail exam appointment requests
must be received by 2:00 p.m. with a confirmation returned in order to be scheduled
for the following day. Any test requests for a Monday testing must be sent by 12:00
p.m. on the previous Friday with a confirmation back as no phone calls or e-mails
will be returned after business hours or on weekends.

All Students, faculty or staff who
use the Testing Center as their proctor, must show a PICTURE ID for identification to the proctor
before they will be allowed to test! A one-time-only
excused absence is allowed.
Test Proctor Responsibility
·
Proctor
will:
o
be a
professional staff member of Clarkson College.
o
check
the Testing Center schedule the morning of their designated day.
o
gather
daily tests prior to student taking the test.
o
arrive
at the Testing Center on time for scheduled test time.
o
maintain
a quiet atmosphere while student tests. (The Success Center satellite location
will make an effort to keep noise to a minimum; however, this site is also used
by students not testing.

Proctor
may document students who arrive late, cancel or miss appointments without
proper notification.
·
If
the proctor CANNOT cover their assigned time, it is their responsibility to
find a substitute and communicate that change to the Testing Center Proctor.
·
Proctor
has 24 hours to deliver completed tests to the instructor. In most cases, tests
will be delivered to the Instructor at the end of the day it was administered.
Instructor Responsibility
·
Online course Instructors are
being asked to complete the electronic version of the Proctored Test Information
form at the beginning of the semester. The form is located on the N Drive in a folder named
Testing Center. A web based form is being explored.
·
Accommodations: In cooperation with the
Accommodations Committee, the Testing Center will schedule tests for students
requiring special services. Please contact the Accommodations Committee for
their review procedure in advance of students scheduling tests. Special
services to students approved may include exam scribe, exam reader, special
environment, handicapped accessible computer, additional aids, and/or extended
time in order to complete their test.

Instructor
may send a written test electronically to the Testing Center Coordinator, at
the coordinator's discretion, who would then be responsible for printing a copy
of the test and temporarily storing the test file in a secure drive.
Instructions should accompany the test via e-mail message, or cover sheet.
·
Instructor
should supply enough written test copies when an entire class will test at the
Center unless other arrangements have been made. They can also send an
electronic version as a backup for the Testing Center Coordinator, who will
save it in a secure space.
·
Instructor
must include:
o
instructor
name, course name, student's name, chapter title/number(s), test/quiz number on
written or make-up test.
o
special
instructions (open/closed book, calculator permission, time allowed, etc.) on
written or make-up test. The Testing
Center cannot be responsible for noting test instructions on multiple tests.
·
It is
the instructor's responsibility to:
o
assure
the Testing Center has a student's test prior to their scheduled test date.
o
provide
the password, if applicable, for computerized tests.
o
pick
up all completed tests from the Testing Center if needed prior to 24 hour
delivery time. In most cases, tests will be delivered to the Instructor at the
end of the day it was administered.
