What are the differences between a PT and a PTA?
A Physical Therapist (PT) diagnoses patients and sets up an initial plan of care. A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) implements the plan of care while working under the license of a PT. The PTA is very hands on with the patient, helping with their rehabilitation process, monitoring their progression and consulting with the PT as he/she provides care.
