The
purpose of the infection prevention courses is to provide current knowledge and
skills necessary for infection prevention health care professionals to function
effectively in various health care settings.
Target Audience
Nurses
and other health care personnel dealing with infection prevention issues.
Overall Course Objectives
Upon
successful completion participants will be able to:
- Understand the components of
an infection prevention program.
- Identify common health care
related infections, resistant organisms and problem infections.
- Interpret current regulations
and standards.
- Describe methods of infection
prevention in a variety of health care settings. Discuss methods of
surveillance, figure infection rates and analyze data.
