Qualified
individuals who have been previously on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry, or
who have written permission from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human
Services may register to complete the required state written and clinical
examination at Clarkson College.
Examination Information
Clarkson
College is approved to provide the Nebraska Department of Health and Human
Services required written and skills competency examinations for placement on
the Nurse Aide Registry. Certain restrictions apply - to inquire on eligibility

Written
Nurse Aide State Examination scheduled from 8:30 - 9:30 am.
Clinical
Competency Skills Examination provided individually during the scheduled 45
minute session with Nurse Aide Instructor. Scheduled time will be provided at
registration; it will occur on same day as written examination.

There is
not a preparatory or review class offered. The textbook, Basic Nursing Assistant Training is available for purchase prior to
testing for $30.00.
Examination Information
One hour
is provided for written examination. Written examination is comprised of 100
multiple choice questions. Seventy percent or better is passing. If a student
fails, they may retake the written examination for a total of three times.
Individuals must re-register and pay exam fee each time it is taken.
Forty-five minutes to one hour is provided for the
clinical examination, during which students are required to perform six nurse
aide skills independently. The clinical exam is a one-on-one session with the
nurse aide instructor. Seventy percent or better is passing for each skill.
Failure of one skill is failure of the exam. If a student fails, they may retake
the clinical examination for a total of three times. Individuals must
re-register and pay exam fee each time it is taken.
Cancellation Policy
Nurse
Aide Competency Evaluation Fees are non-refundable. Refunds are not provided if
an individual cancels, does not show, is unable to complete or fails testing.
