Bestcolleges.com ranked the Clarkson College Master’s in Health Care Administration program 9th in the nation and first in Nebraska on the basis of acceptance, retention, graduation and enrollment rates.
Bestcolleges.com school rankings are compiled using the latest information from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and College Navigator databases, both of which are maintained by the National Center for Education Statistics. The most recent set of data is for the 2011-12 academic year, though some individual data points reflect the 2012-13 academic year. Only accredited colleges and universities that offer flexible online program options were considered for the ranking.
“The Clarkson College MHA program is a high quality program that blends content knowledge with ‘real-world’ case scenarios in health care administration,” said Carla Dirkschneider, MHA Program Director. “Our goal is to prepare the students with practical experiences they might encounter as healthcare leaders and administrators.”
Bestcolleges.com takes the initial list of schools pulled from IPEDS and College Navigator and only includes those with at least two of the following four data points published:
Every school was ranked for each data point, and all data points were weighted equally. Schools that did not have a particular data point available were excluded from that specific ranking to avoid unfairly “punishing” them for not having that information available. These four data points cover the school’s assessment of students, student opinion of the school and student success once enrolled. Schools that excel in all four areas rank the highest in their respective categories.
Clarkson College undergoes an annual review process for all academic programs. “With health care constantly changing, it is imperative that our courses change right along with the industry,” said Dirkschneider. “Continuous evaluation of the courses allows for current events and topics regarding these changes to be added seamlessly into the curriculum.”
