Certificate in Long Term Care Administration

The rapid advancements in medicine are allowing people to live longer than ever before. In the year 2000, 15 million people were in need of long-term care, and that number is expected to reach 27 million by 2050. In response to the influx, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the number of long-term care administrators to grow by 22 percent over the next 10 years, creating an estimated 68,000 new jobs. To help prepare individuals for these in-demand roles and ensure elderly populations are provided with adequate services, Clarkson College is pleased to now offer an online Long-Term Care (LTC) Administration Certificate program.

Our LTC Certificate program is designed for individuals with a vested interest in geriatrics and health care administration. Graduates of the program will be prepared for management roles at nursing and assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, home health and other alternative residential care centers.

Ideal candidates for the LTC Certificate program include:

We broke out the LTC program into three semesters, and the online convenience allows you to work as you study. No prerequisites are required upon admission, and we offer a new start date for each of the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Understanding the importance of a holistic education, the LTC Administration Certificate program focuses on both the administrative and the clinical aspects of the long-term care sector and offers courses such as:

Upon successful completion of the program and the additional required number of practicum hours, you will be eligible to sit for the LTC Administrator Licensure Exam.

Applications for the LTC Certificate program are available online or you may request a print copy from our Admissions office.
