In less than two years, the national health care system will implement ICD-10-CM/PCS, which will dramatically change current coding practices. With the proper training, you will develop the knowledge and skills to make the transition a success.
On Oct. 1, 2013, the United States health care system will replace the ICD-9-CM classification system with ICD-10-CM/PCS to provide more streamlined and detailed code sets that can support current health information needs.
The implementation of ICD-10-CM/PCS will affect health care professionals across the nation, and early preparation is highly encouraged to ensure the transition is smooth and successful.
Clarkson College offers organized and comprehensive training modules that are divided into two distinct series. The first series of modules focuses on reviewing fundamentals for ICD-10-CM/PCS, such as medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. The second series of modules concentrates on practice in applying ICD-10-CM/PCS codes so participants can become experts at using the new system.
