Essay Directions
This essay is crucial in helping us to understand goals and desired professional accomplishments. Students are asked to use the following guidelines when writing their essays.
Undergraduate Students
In your essay, please be sure to address the following:
- Statement of your motivation for helping others.
- Why you will be successful as a health care provider.
- Why you wish to attend Clarkson College.
Note: Physical Therapist Assistant and Radiologic Technology program applicants should follow the directions in the program application packet. An additional essay is not required. Any questions may be directed to the Admissions office.
Graduate Students
In your essay, which must be typed and limited to three pages, please be sure to address the following:
- Statement of your personal and professional goals after graduation.
- Role of graduate education in achieving your goals.
- Personal and professional strengths.
- Professional areas identified as needing development.
- Personal perceptions of graduate education.
Doctoral Students
In your essay, which must be typed and limited to a 500-words, please be sure to address the following:
- Statement of educational goals (include evidence of active involvement in health care and details about your potential dissertation topic).
- Role of doctoral education in achieving your goals.
- Personal and professional strengths.
- Professional areas identified as needing development.
- Personal perceptions of doctoral education.
