Testing Center Rules & Responsibilities

Testing Center Rules

The following rules are set as a reminder that academic honesty is an expectation of our students at Clarkson College:

Student Responsibility

Test Proctor Responsibility

The test proctor will:

Proctors may document students who arrive late or miss appointments without proper notification.

Instructor Responsibility

Online Course Exams
Instructors who require a test proctor for their exams and quizzes must complete and submit the Proctored Test Information form to the Online Education Coordinator and the Testing Center Coordinator at the beginning of each semester. The form is distributed each semester and is also located on the N: Drive in the Testing Center folder. Any handouts to be used by students during testing should also be provided in an electronic format at this time.

Written Online Course Exams
The Proctored Test Information form must be submitted as above. Instructor may send a written test electronically to the Testing Center Coordinator. It is at  the coordinator's discretion to agree and be responsible for printing a copy of the test and temporarily storing the test file in a secure drive, or the instructor may supply, in advance, enough copies of the written exam when an entire class will test at the center. It is recommended that an electronic version also be sent to the Testing Center Coordinator as a backup.

Makeup Exam or Other Special Exam Arrangements
Notification of a special test arrangement must be communicated to the Testing Center Coordinator as soon as possible so the exam selection is enabled in the online appointment scheduling system.

Accommodations

The Testing Center offers testing accommodations to individuals with disabilities. Examples of exam accommodations include an exam scribe, exam reader, low-distraction environment, assistive technology aids, wheelchair-accessible computer, and/or extended time.

Disabled students eligible for accommodations receive a Statement of Eligibility (SOE) from the Accommodations Coordinator. The SOE lists the student’s approved accommodations. Students are responsible for presenting this document to their instructors if they wish to receive the accommodations.

Instructors presented with an SOE need to review the implementation directions with the student. Action may be required, such as providing the course exam schedule and instructions in advance to the Testing Center Coordinator as explained under Instructor Responsibility.

Questions regarding test accommodations may be directed to the Accommodations Coordinator.
