At Clarkson College, you must complete certain health and safety requirements according to program needs. Working in the health care field, you will be exposed to conditions of high risk and must learn to protect yourself and to respond quickly in emergency situations.
All students enrolling in the Clarkson College on-campus programs must meet the health and safety on-campus requirements prior to scheduling the pre-registration assessment test and registration for classes. In addition, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Practical Nursing (PN), Radiologic Technology (RT), Medical Imaging (MI), three-year RT and MI or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) programs must also be enrolled or completed the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider course and have the first shot in the Hepatitis "B" series completed prior to scheduling the pre-registration assessment test and registration for classes. Students admitted to the MSN, RN to BSN and Medical Imaging (MI) programs must be licensed health providers and must maintain health and safety standards in their places of employment and/or according to professional standards. Students must show proof of current license to be admitted to Clarkson College and for ongoing matriculation.
