long-term care or small rural hospitals.
Overall Course Objectives
Upon
successful completion participants will be able to:
- Understand the components of
an infection control program.
- Identify common nosocomial
infections, resistant organisms and problem infections.
- Interpret current regulations
and standards.
- Describe methods of infection
control in a variety of healthcare settings. Discuss methods of
surveillance, figure infection rates and analyze data.

Nursing Contact Hours Offered: Contact hours will be given
separately for each day. Attendance at the entire session each day is required
to obtain contact hours. Partial credit will not be provided.
