Clarkson College allows
applications from students who have been educated in another country who meet
the admissions requirements established by the College. Additional requirements from the Bureau of
Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) must be completed. Applications are
reviewed based on the following criteria of academic performance, English proficiency
and financial support.
The
following application materials are necessary to complete your application for
admission.
Academic
Requirements:
- Completion of high school
(secondary school) education equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma.
Cumulative grade point average (GPA) on all secondary school work and
postsecondary (university) coursework of 2.5 and cumulative grade point
average of 2.5 for math and science courses. Transcripts from all
non-English speaking schools must be translated to English and must be
official. Evaluation of credentials may be obtained from the Educational
Credential Evaluators, Inc. at www.ece.org.
- ACT or SAT scores are not
required for international admissions; however can bolster an application.

English Proficiency:
This
requirement applies to all individuals whose first language is not English,
regardless of U.S. citizenship status or time spent in the United States.
Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required.

of 100 total score on the TOEFL iBT

Minimum
of 250 total score on the Computer-Based TOEFL with a 5.0 or higher essay
rating

Minimum
of 600 total score on the paper-based TOEFL with a 5.0 or higher essay rating

Financial
Support:
Each international
applicant must provide statements of financial support from the bank or financial
institution of the financial sponsor indicating that sufficient funds will be
available for each year (12 months) of expected enrollment in the program.
Funding must be shown in U.S. dollars showing at least $17,000. The amount does
not include costs for travel to and from the student's home country. In the
case of multiple sources of support for one student, separate certified
statements are required from each sponsor's financial institution or
scholarship agency indicating the amount of the contribution. Applicants will
be required to make an advanced payment (as determined by the College) that
will apply to their Clarkson College student accounts before an I-20 form will
be issued.

Instructions:
All
application materials must be complete in order to review for acceptance to
Clarkson College. Accepted students must open a student account at Clarkson
College and make an advance payment of $10,000 U.S. dollars prior to
issuing an
I-20.
Step 1.
Application: Complete
the Undergraduate
Application
for Admission. Mail application to Clarkson College Office of
Enrollment Services.
Step 2.
Application Fee: The application fee is
nonrefundable. Mail a check or money order to the Office of Enrollment Services
payable to Clarkson College.
Step 3.
Transcripts: Request official transcripts from
your secondary school and all postsecondary institutions you have attended or
are currently attending to the Office of Enrollment Services. Clarkson College
will not accept transcripts issued directly to the student. Transcripts from
all non-English speaking schools must be translated to English and must be
official.
Step 4. TOEFL: Official TOEFL and TWE scores
sent to the Office of Enrollment Services.
Step 5. Financial Support: Complete and submit the Financial
Statement for International Students (PDF format).
Step 6. Health and Safety Requirements: In order to ensure protection for
all persons, including students and patients, students at Clarkson College must
complete certain health and safety requirements according to program needs. Accepted students must show proof of health
insurance and meet the health
and safety requirements (PDF format).
Limitations
on International Student Enrollments:
Clarkson
College does not offer non-degree course work or online education programs for
non-U.S. citizens.
Foreign
Nurse Applicants:
Clarkson
College accepts enrollment applications from nurses whose education was
acquired in a foreign country. Applicants are to follow the International
Application requirements and application instructions. Additional requirements
include:
- Documentation of successful
achievement of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools
(CCFNS) qualifying examination.
- Recommendation by the
Nebraska State Board of Nursing.
