Brenda Thompson:
Recipient of the Bronze Scholarship
Brenda Thompson thought it was great
to receive a scholarship to help pay for tuition and other expenses. She said, "Receiving this
scholarship has helped me a great deal.
Being a college student, working 40hrs a week for clinical time and
taking night classes doesn't leave much time for a job. Although I have recently started working as
a temporary technologist at Clarkson Hospital it is hard to find enough hours
in a day to work (for money). All my
weekends and week days are packed full of studying, homework, and clinical
time."
She
is happy with her experience at Clarkson College. "I
enjoy the atmosphere on the campus. All the teachers are great and eager to
teach and help the students when needed. It is especially helpful since I live
at the Clarkson dorms. It reduces travel time that I don't have," she stated.
She chose Clarkson so she wouldn't
have to move away from family and friends and it was everything that she had
been searching for in a program. She always knew that she wanted to be in the
medical field and chose the RT/MI program. "My mother is a lab technician and
she helped me learn about all the different opportunities in the medical
field. I decided upon radiological
technologist because of the wide variety of possibilities with this field," she
said.
