Robyn Horstmann:
President's Platinum Scholarship Recipient
Robyn
Horstmann is a nursing student, Clarkson College resident and a recipient of
the President's Platinum Scholarship.
"I think it means my hard work in high school paid off,"
said Horstmann. "I think if it would have been a lesser scholarship, I wouldn't
have been able to go here."
Horstmann explains she chose Clarkson [College]
because she liked the atmosphere.
"I wanted to be in a city and Clarkson [College] is a small
community within a big city," Horstmann said. "They throw you into clinicals
right away where other schools you have to wait until your second and third
year. I like the dorms! The rooms are awesome!"
She also values the living arrangements.
"I like that I have my own room. I need so much privacy,"
Horstmann said. "I like the location. I leave five minutes before class and I'm
still on time."
In addition to being a Clarkson College work study she is
also a volunteer at Pinewood Elementary and at the Owens Educational Institute.
"I've gained an understanding of different types of people
understanding and tolerance," Horstmann said.
