President called meeting to order at 4:35 P.M.

Kaitlin Schrader, Secretary: getting organized

Jennifer Krysl, Treasurer: updated budget, Campus Crusades might be at next meeting

Molly Bisenius, PR Chair: working on newsletter, getting organized

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

What's Up:

·         SGA newsletter combined with Marketing's newsletter with 3 stipulations: will be student run, new name, and out consistently

·         Name ideas - Clarkson Corner, Clarkson Chronicles, Maltese Crossing, Clarkson Connection, Clarkson Crossing, Clarkson Campus, The Clarkson Collage.

·         Finally name decision was Clarkson Collage.

·         No January newsletter, will go together with What's Up in February

·         Release date for Feb newsletter is Feb 4th and articles are due on Jan 23rd.

·         No articles will be written by marketing

·         Send all article straight to Nicole Bonk at bonk.nicole@clarksoncollege.edu

·         Service Learning Article - Amy Kozeny

·         Student Activities, Game Show - Alissa Woods

SGA Retreat:

·         Monday January 21

·         Exec from 1-2 p.m.

·         Reps from 2-5 p.m.

 

Giving Tree Recap:

·         Katie Nichols and Christina Pick took in presents

·         Want to go with Omaha Home for Boys next year because they have more need than CASA does

·         Omaha Home for Boys picked up the presents, very happy about number/quality of presents, would like us to go to a dinner with them

·         Possibly on a Tuesday evening

 

Student Organization Representative Update:

·         Need to contact organization within next week, get updates, and be prepared to update SGA at next meeting

·         Alissa/Amber - SNA, next meeting Tuesday @ 7 p.m.

·         Christina Pick - MARC, meetings on Wed, doing grant work - government giving someone money to do a program that meets a need

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Spring Calendar:

·         Note Recycling schedule

·         Tuesday 4:30-5:30 p.m.

·         Exec meetings will be at Panera

·         Feb 25 application to run for SGA will be available

·         No Office Hours during Spring Break

·         March 24 Candidate applications are due, campaigning starts

·         March 31 Elections week

·         Executive Transitions April 20

 

Recycling Schedule:

·         Representatives: Top name - Dorms/Student Center, Bottom name - Ed tech/College

·         Need to be done by Wednesday

·         Executives: Take cans out to scrap central by Sunday

 

Bylaws Revision:

·         Go through bylaws, if you see any typos, issue, deletions, corrections - propose at next meeting

 

Graduation Update:

·         Stoles worked out well

·         Extras are in the office

·         Graduation will be on Saturday April 25th @ Rose Performing Arts Center

·         No all-grad dinner

·         Friday open for individual programs to do pinning

 

Faculty Student Concerns Letter, BSN:

·         Marilyn Bowens wrote letter to update SGA on what they are doing about student concerns

·         Included how they addressed each concern and the proposed action plan

·         Unapproachable/Unhelpful Teachers - need specific names and examples, students names keep confidential

Congratulations to Michelle Kruse who got engaged this past weekend
