called meeting to order at 7:37 p.m.

SPEAKER
Kim Lemmons (SPTA President)
- Proposed 3 activities that
PTA wants to do
- PT booth: in lobby of student center on October
16th, from 12 -2 to promote PT month, will be handing out a
Perkin's gift card.
- Shoe Drive: October 15 - 29 (2 weeks), 1, 2, 3
floor of residence hall and lobby of main building, shoes are donated to
Open Door Mission and healthy families, will throw pizza party for floor
that collects the most shoes.
- Younker Day Books: Donate $5 and get a $10 off coupon and
several 20% off coupons, most of the donations are returned to the student
organization
- Flyers will be put up in the
residence hall, student center, and main building of college.
OFFICER REPORTS
President Katie
- Checking SGA email - lots of
recycling encouragement
- Met with Dr. Weekes, Tony,
and Michelle, contacting student organizations presidents and advisors
- Reminded everyone to
continuously file this year
Vice-President Christina
- Updating reminders in office
- Went to SAC meeting -
Halloween Carnival on the 13th of October
- If anyone can help they would
greatly appreciate it
Secretary Kaitlin
- One birthday in October -

- Birthday card sent around and
signed
- Will mail out closer to date
- Normal secretary duties
Treasurer Jennifer
- Proposed cash cut for PTA
winnings from seminar, handed out copies of updated budget
Promotions Coordinator Molly
- Finished with newsletter for
this month
- Will start working on PR for
town hall meetings next
- Meeting with Katie about PR

Convocation
- Great success
- Had 7 SGA members show up
- Painted little kids faces and
pictures to color
Town Hall Meetings
- Katie met with w/ Michelle,
Dr. Weekes, and Tony
- Monday or Wednesday of the
week of the 15th, time to be announced
- Dr. Weekes will consider
putting together a graduation committee and may take student suggestions
on who the speaker is
- SGA needs to emphasize
solutions instead of problems
- Question will be written out
on cards - program, thoughts/questions/concerns, solutions
- Card were approved with SGA
seal, should have copies by next Friday
- Need to be handed out in
classrooms
- SGA will be in charge of
advertising to students, but Dr. Weekes will advertise to faculty and
administration
- SGA will be going threw
questions and picking appropriate ones
Oh Snap Cards
- Will be printed on thick
paper
- Hole punched in one corner
with ribbon
- All reps will have a folder
mailbox in the bottom file drawer
Alumni Revival Cruise
Recap
- Painted kids faces
- Had picture to be colored
- Had good weather and the
night flew past
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Christina is taking cans to scrap
central either Thursday or Friday afternoon
- Student organization
fundraiser forms on the internet on SGA's page
- Student organization recognition packets need to be
submitted by October 15th
- People going to SGA
conference need to meet briefly after meeting
- Please hand in activity
checklist for the month of September
- Sarah did the most events
during the summer
