Nebraska Medicine Partnership Tuition Rate Information
How do I qualify for the Partnership Tuition Rate available to employees of Nebraska Medicine?
Employees, their spouses or dependents (age 23 or younger) of Clarkson College, Nebraska Medicine, Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital, Shenandoah Hospital and Community Hospital Association, Inc. (Fairfax) may receive the Partnership tuition rate, if all other eligibility criteria are met. Private practice physicians who are on the active medical staff of these same hospitals, their spouses or dependents (age 23 or younger) may receive the Partnership Tuition Rate, if all other eligibility criteria are met. The student must be employed at Nebraska Medicine or an affiliate full-time (.9 FTE) for six months or part-time (at least .4 FTE) for four years. This employment status must be maintained to receive the reduced tuition rate.
One of my parents is an employee of Nebraska Medicine. Do I qualify for the reduced tuition rate?

Who are the affiliates of Nebraska Medicine?
Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital, Shenandoah Hospital, Community Hospital Association, Inc. (Fairfax), private practice physicians who are on the active medical staff of these same hospitals and Clarkson College.

I am an employee of Nebraska Medicine so why am I being charged the full tuition rate?
A Partnership Verification form must be completed every semester to verify employment status in order to receive the reduced tuition rate. This form will not be accepted until 30 days before each semester begins. The form must be signed by the Employee Relations Specialist in the HR department at Nebraska Medicine. The completed form must then be submitted to the Student Accounts office at Clarkson College.
Why am I being charged tuition and additional fees?
There are two components to your student account: tuition and fees. All students are charged fees for services and access/maintenance of technology. Students may be charged additional fees for enrollment in certain courses or labs where additional instructional expenses are incurred.
How do I defer my tuition payment?
If you qualify for tuition reimbursement through Nebraska Medicine, you may sign a COPPER Payment Plan form. This must be signed every semester you wish to participate in the payment plan.
What is the COPPER Payment Plan?
This agreement allows you to defer your tuition and fees until two weeks after grades become available. There is no payment plan fee to participate in this program.

Can I make payments on the fees balance?
You may sign a Deferred Payment Plan that allows you to make three equal monthly payments. There is a payment plan fee to participate in this option, that will be added to your student account. If you would like to participate in the Deferred Payment Plan, you must contact the Student Accounts office at 402.552.2749.
What if I want to use payroll deduction to pay my fees?
You must contact the Student Accounts office and sign a payroll deduction form. This form must be signed each semester that you wish to use payroll deduction.
You must complete Nebraska Medicine's Application for Tuition Assistance form located on Lawson. Attach an itemized tuition billing statement along with your grades printed from Self Service and submit to the Human Resource department at Nebraska Medicine. If you signed a COPPER Payment Plan, your tuition reimbursement will be sent directly to Clarkson College and applied to your student account balance.
When is my tuition payment due?
If you have submitted a COPPER Payment Plan to the Student Accounts office, you have until two weeks after grades become available to pay the tuition balance of your account. Your tuition reimbursement from Nebraska Medicine will be applied to your student account balance, and you will be required to pay the remaining tuition balance within the two week timeframe. If you did not submit a COPPER Payment Plan, then your entire account balance (tuition and fees) must be paid by the end of the third week of the semester.
What forms must I complete and when are they due?
- Partnership Verification form (for the reduced tuition rate) must be submitted to the Clarkson College Student Accounts office at the beginning of each semester.
- COPPER Payment Plan form for Nebraska Medicine Employees (to defer payment of tuition only, until two weeks after the semester grades are posted) must be submitted to the Clarkson College Student Accounts office at the beginning of each semester.
- Application for Tuition Assistance (available on Lawson; to be reimbursed for tuition expenses through Nebraska Medicine) must be submitted to Nebraska Medicine's Human Resources office at the end of each semester.
What is this late payment fee I’m being charged?
If you didn’t pay your fees balance or tuition balance by the due date, you will be charged a late payment fee and a stop will be placed on your account, which will prevent you from registering for future semesters or receiving transcripts.
